PIEL DE LA SANGRE

“DEDICATED TO THE COUNTRY I SPILLED BLOOD FOR THE FIRST TIME…”
In June 2005, Cassidy Pegg was born on Mt Mondúver in the Valencia region, Piel de la Sangre builds from her rural perspective of Spain. Boho-chic aesthetics come with the mixing of such perspective, with the cliches of bullfighting, flamenco, and architecture that make Spain opulent. It is bold and powerful, yet still beautiful and feminine. It is the dance between the bull and the matador, the flame that burned wild through the mountains a month after my birth.
The SPRING SUMMER ‘27 collection aims to challenge haute couture’s themes around womenswear, bringing autonomy and accessibility to luxury for women. Adjustable elements as well as building clothing that can be altered and tailored for the owner, bring back a sense of control over the clothes one wears. A love letter to women.
We shot Piel de la Sangre in the city of Bilbao and the beautiful national park, Bardenas Reales. A small team of 2 models and one photographer – being Cassidy Pegg. We wanted to capture the wild spirit behind the collection, with a desert backdrop – as well as in Bilbao we wanted the modern perspective mixed with Spanish tradition, using locations such as the Guggenheim and Vista Alegre plaza.
The collection mixes luxury fabrics – leathers, organza, and a hand-dyed linen. To demonstrate that every detail is considered with care, some pieces feature a screen-printed lining with an in-house designed print inspired by Spanish tiles and ceramics. Said linings are 100% cotton, we wanted to avoid direct poly fabrics on the skin as much as possible.
